Alliance to face the new Coronavirus crisis for riverine and indigenous populations in the State of Amazonas, Brazilian Amazon
The "Alliance of indigenous peoples and traditional populations and partner organizations of Amazonas for confronting the Coronavirus" is led by the Amazon Sustainable Foundation (FAS) with the involvement of 40 public institutions and civil society:

CORONAVIRUS CAN HAVE A DEVASTATING IMPACT FOR FAMILIES IN REMOTE COMMUNITIES
Remote communities in the Amazonas State are surrounded by forests and rivers, have no access to roads or air transport; have limited access to information; their supply of food and hygiene products is limited due to the reduction of boats that supply communities; and if anyone becomes ill with COVID-19, they would have to travel an average of 3 days to arrive at the capital's hospital.
